May all those who lost loved ones in the 9/11 terrorist attacks find peace of mind knowing that the man who murdered nearly 3,000 Americans has been brought to justice. We will never forget 9/11, nor will we ever take for granted the sacrifices of all members of our armed forces in the defense of freedom. Today is a day we stand together as Americans rejoicing in another victory in the War on Terror, still remembering all of those who have given their lives in defense of freedom. There is no way to fill the void that is left of those who have lost their lives; to all those who have known the loss of a loved one, we offer our deepest condolences and our eternal gratification for laying such a costly sacrifice upon the altar of freedom. No amount of prayers, no hallowing of ground, and no wish upon a star may ever bring our lost ones back, but they will live forever within our hearts.
We will never accept defeat in the face of adversity, we will never quit when times are tough,
and we will never relinquish our freedom. Why? Because we are Americans.
